Botanical Name: Gomphrena haageana

Family: Amaranthaceae

Native: New Mexico, Texas, and Northern Mexico

Hardiness: Perennial in USDA zones 9-11; often grown as an annual

Plant Dimensions: 24″–26″ tall

Variety Information: 1″–1½” rounded clusters of bracts in orange, red, and carmine. The actual flowers are yellow or white tucked between bracts and very tiny, visible only close up.

Exposure: Full sun

Growing Info.:

Special Instructions: Deadhead (cut spent blooms) for continuous flowering. To dry flowers, hang in a dark place or inside a paper bag for about 3 weeks until stiff. Be gentle with dried flowers as they are fragile and can shatter.
