How to Make Milk Kefir:
- Put 1tbsp of kefir grains in a glass jar.
- Add a liter (or a little less) of milk, leaving about 5cm for a cloth-covered jar.
- Leave in the kitchen for 18-24 hours to ferment. It’s turned to kefir when the milk has thickened.
- Strain the grains in a plastic strainer collecting the Kefir. The grains will be used to referment and make Kefir again (repeat steps 1-3)
- Put the collected Kefir in another bottle/container (with or without fruits/herbs to taste) then either leave in the kitchen to ferment more for a few hours before placing it in the fridge, or place it in the fridge to ferment there to taste.
